Black Kite - poison

Black Kite is an intensely personal sonic journey into the psyche of Los Angeles-based Vicki Lynn Tippit. Black Kite's sound is interlaced with melodic, and at times abrasive, electronic soundscapes. Punctuated with poignant narratives, Tippit's music calls to mind the broody offerings of both Portishead and Nine Inch Nails. Her haunting vocals rise out of frenetic rhythms to create lush textures that embody both delicacy and menace, and her lyrical introspection urges you beyond a rumination on the shadow side of humanity, into a close examination of your own. In 2023, Tippit was joined on drums by multi-instrumentalist Amy Ling, whose innovative percussive style merges with Black Kite’s sonic landscape to create a convergence of precise electronic constructs and acoustic nuance. Together, they craft a distinctive aural atmosphere that is wholly their own. Black Kite is currently working on an EP to be released in 2025.
